Locally raised beef

Stehlin’s Meat Market sells CHOICE GRAIN FED BEEF. We have been dealing with the same farm families for three generations. We know how these farmers feed their cattle and have a common trust with them that they will continue to do it the same way for years to come.


These farmers feed corn to the cattle for the final two months before bringing them to slaughter. This produces choice (some fat, nicely marbled) beef as opposed to select (lean) or prime (very fatty).

We age our beef 7 to 14 days. The aging process allows the tissue to break down gradually so that the meat will be more tender when you cook it. Longer aging causes the meat to darken in color and results in more trimming of the outer edge.
